“Proof of Aliens”

An analysis by David Calvert

‘UFO hunters claim mysterious ‘floating cigar’ hovering in the sky behind snowboarder is proof of aliens.’
Location: Unknown.
Footage: Originally filmed in 2013.

The above still and caption headline is taken from the ‘Mirror’ online newspaper, published on 29th January 2016. It purports to show a cylindrical UFO which was captured on the snowboarders Go Pro video camera. You can see it clearly over his left shoulder. The video was forwarded to my Facebook page by Sheila Dawson Wilson, who thought it was ‘impressive’ enough to send it to me.
Before I address my image analysis conclusions, I’d like to cover an issue regarding the statement that the sighting is ‘proof of aliens’.
Witnessing an anomalous dark mass in the sky, is certainly not proof of aliens. How on earth the UFO enthusiasts can claim that the footage has captured proof of aliens is beyond me. Since the acronym UFO means UNIDENTIFIED Flying Object how could they conclude that it is of extra-terrestrial origin? The operative word here is “Unidentified”. At face value it looks very impressive, but then again there a countless faked videos which are equally as impressive. The cylindrical anomaly certainly bares many characteristics associated with the cigar-shaped UFOs witnessed throughout human history. It even appears to have an energy field surrounding it, which theoretical physicists have hypothesised could be due to the propulsion systems employed. But is this irrefutable proof of aliens?
Inference and Analysis.
‘Inferences are based on evidence. To infer, we must collect evidence. And evidence is collected by the process of analysis.
Analysis is a particular form of investigation. In general usage, analysis refers to any close, careful, or systematic examination. In the discussion here, the term “analysis“ is used in its more technical meaning. Analysis is a process of investigating something by breaking it into parts for closer examination. Complex topics are broken down into simpler ones. Intricate patterns are broken down into less complicated elements. A problem is simplified by limiting the amount that must be examined at any one time.
The goal of analysis is not simply to discover parts within the whole, but to understand the whole. Once the parts are identified, analysis then seeks to determine how those parts are related. From a recognition of the nature of the parts, and the relationships between the parts.’
So where is the relationship between the anomaly and alien’s in this case? Their is no tangible evidence to connect the two.
Analysis and Conclusion.
I conducted a visual analysis of the 3 “stills” from the video, and noted the pixilation pattern surrounding the anomaly was different to those of the overall image which indicated the images had been edited, particularly image 1 (above).  I sent off the images to an independent analyst who corroborated my findings that the images showed distinctive signs of having been tampered with.

The Plane and Simple Truth.

Case No. 114869

Witness Testimony

I was in the house bent down to play with my dog when out the windows I noticed three large white objects in the west sky. I grabbed my camera and went out, my first thought was they looked like meteors falling. I snapped off 4 photos ran back in and grabbed my binoculars. Looking thru them I could see each had 4 contrails, but I couldn’t see anything but blue sky where an object should have been. I then took 3 more photos before they went out of my sight in the tree line. Also there was no noise.

In this image the contrails are quite pronounced and, as the witnessed described,  there are  four to each object. However, whatever is creating them seems to be johnson city ufos1invisible – even on higher magnification.  How is this possible? Are we dealing with some advanced cloaking technology of an extraterrestrial or terrestrial stealth technology or is there a more mundane explanation? More on the latter possibility later. It seems highly improbable that an advanced race of extraterrestrials – who are apparently capable of interstellar travel – would use heat exhaust engines to power their spacecraft. Equally absurd is the idea that these might be terrestrial stealth aircraft possessing the technological ability to become invisible. What would be the point .. their contrails would give them away anyhow.

On image 4a, enhanced for clarification purposes, you will note that the trailing johnston city ufos3object’s contrail has an interruption pattern in it.The upper yellow line points out an appreciable gap in the contrail and the line just below it appears to show several staggered dots that follow, suggesting perhaps that the engine cut out and an attempt was made to restart it.

Apart from the invisibility problem, the evidence points to a terrestrial explanation for these objects. However, the answer to the invisibility dilemma can be explained in mundane terms.

The smaller, higher and grayer a plane is, the  harder it is to see. In many cases you can see the contrail but not the plane itself, as evidenced by the comparison images below. Both images are of known aircraft.

johnston city ufos4You can see quite clearly that the planes have blended in with the background sky. This is especially true if the sky is slightly hazy or if there is some low cloud layer. Moreover, contrails are formed by the condensation of the water vapour in the aircraft exhaust. They typically form above 30, 000 ft. As you will recall the johnston city ufos6witness said that the objects made no sound. The truth is, they were far too high for her to hear the engines.

This second comparative image was taken from a report in Germany in December, 2010. The witnesses thought it was either a “fireball”, “meteor” or some kind of “UFO”.  Sound familiar?  This image  was later proven to be an aircraft.
